General
Please turn in a new Free and Reduced Price School Meals Household Application for the new school year. Students who were approved for free or reduced meals last school year may only receive meals on that basis for the first few days of school. A link to the application and information letter is below. You may also go by your school's office and request one or come by the Alleghany County Schools Central Office located at 85 Peachtree Street, Sparta.

If you are the parent/guardian of a student with special dietary needs, please contact Sandy Combs, Director of School Nutrition Services, at telephone number 336-372-4345 or by email: sandy.combs@alleghany.k12.nc.us
KEEP THE CHANGE
Unless requested at the point of sale, change will not be made and will instead be put in the student’s account to go towards future purchases.

Update for Current Customers:
Released by Meals Plus 5-1-17: As K12PaymentCenter.com continues to grow, as a result, we have upgraded the service provider for our email and text functionality. How does this affect a district that uses K12PaymentCenter.com? Is shouldn't. The change to our new mail and text service provider should be transparent to our customers. However, the one difference we have noticed is that Outlook users may see a different header in their emails: "From: noreply=k12paymentcenter.com@mg.k12paymentcenter.com[mailto:noreply=k12paymentcenter.com@mg.k12paymentcenter.com] on Behlaf of K12PaymentCenter
We wanted to make you aware of this change. This is a legitimate email from K12PaymentCenter.com and there is no issue with the website.
K12 Payment Center has made changes to improve functionality with smart phones and tablets. Customers using mobile devices will now have access to all the functionality available on the main site. Your old bookmark, however, may not work so please delete the old URL/web address saved as a bookmark and replace it with: http://www.k12paymentcenter.com
The K12 Payment Center is a convenient way to ensure your student always has funds in his or her account to purchase food items. Here are a few reasons the center is so great:
- $10 lifetime membership fee includes all students in your family; $1.95 fee per transaction with no maximum payment required and deposits can be made to multiple student accounts with one single payment.
- Step-by-step registration is easy and your information is always confidential.
- See your student's meal account balance and history anytime with auto notification available to notify you if balance falls below a pre-determined amount.
Parents are encouraged to take advantage of the online meal prepay system. Go to www.k12paymentcenter.com today! Before you register, make sure you have your child's student identification number available.
You may also call the Technical Account Specialist team at (800) 541-8999, option 1, if you have questions.
The School Nutrition Program's breakfast and lunch menus are published by the week in each weekly edition of The Alleghany News andThe Declaration.
